Back to history, it was gathered that Corey Johnson was the first man to be executed in the United States of America this year over a crime he committed in 1992.
Corey Johnson was just a man who was misled too early in life.
According to some of the gathered information about him, his mother was a drug addict who usually abused him when he was young. His mother’s boyfriends would also do the same to him too.
At age 13, Corey became an abandoned child as his mother did not really care about him any more.
For a child who lacked parental care, Corey joined a bad gang while growing up, and that would be his first step towards his execution years later.
As Corey grew into a man, he joined a gang known as the Newtowne. This gang specialized in the peddling of drugs, robbing people and killing people. Their operations were literally carried out in Virginia.
In 1992, Corey and his gang member went on a rampage and within 45 days they had already killed about 11 people.
It was disclosed that some of their victims were stabbed multiple times, while others were shot. Corey and some of his gang members were arrested by the police. Corey was convicted for the murder of 7 people and was sentenced to death alongside two other members of his gang.
Corey was finally executed by lethal injection on the 14th of January 2021 at the age of 52. Before his death, Corey apologized for his crimes, especially to the families of his victims.
