Homepage gathered that hell was let loosed in Kakura community, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State after residents reportedly launched a reprisal attack, killing several Fulani persons in the process.
The sad incident occurred after gunmen believed to be bandits killed the newly Installed Chief of the community, Isiaku Madaki in the early hours of Sunday.
A Fulani man, Malam Buhari who was a resident of Kakura village revealed to punch Newspaper that after the bandit attack in the area, some villagers stormed the Fulani settlement, accused them of hypocrisy, and ordered them to leave the community.
He added that while they were leaving the village, the natives attacked and killed about 14 of them.
It should be noted that reprisal attacks on Fulani communities after bandits’ attack is becoming a norm in the state.
Though several victims of banditry have alleged that their assailants are Fulani herders, however, we still have innocent herders striving to earn a honest living like other Nigerians.
Killing them because of the alleged atrocities committed by their kinsmen is not a good idea.
The government ought to do something very fast about this sad idea of reprisal attack.
