INEC react over surge on voters card registration.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has responded to the sudden surge in the number of Nigerians who have visited the Voters Registration centers in order to get registered as the 2023 election draws close.

The Commission while reacting on their verified Facebook Page, said that after the got the report of the massive crowd, they called for an emergency meeting with all the Resident Electoral Commissioners yesterday being the 9th of June 2021 to see how they can get all those that are eligible to vote, registered.

So they agreed that more voter enrolment machines should be deployed. So in line with the agreement, the Independent National Electoral Commission has released an additional 209 machines to the 5 southeastern States namely; Anambra, Abia, Enugu, IMO and Ebonyi State also machines were also sent to Lagos state and Kano State.

The Commission revealed that it will monitor the situation of things in the next few days and then meet again to review the progress of the exercise.
