There is always a biased viewpoint in any situation, especially a war, whether it comes from the defending or the opposing side, and the Ukrainians discovered one of these traitors.
Ukrainska Pravda reports A former deputy director of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has been placed under investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The Major General is under suspicion for treason, attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, and illegal possession of firearms, the security service claimed in a statement.
The suspect was detained by the Ukrainian Security Service during the start of the major Russian invasion, and he is currently in custody.
The inquiry found that he provided the Russian special services with classified and top secret information on the military and political situation in Ukraine at the time.
The individual attempted to use a Makarov pistol to shoot Security Service investigators while they were being searched at his place of employment.
From 2008 until 2010, the detainee served as the deputy director of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Later, he held positions in this organization’s civil service as well as a prominent position at the Ukrainian State Space Agency.
Because of his pro-Kremlin opinions, which he developed during his training at the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School and the Frunze Military Academy during the Soviet era, he attracted the attention of the Russian secret services.
He gathered classified information that was being disseminated within the Ministry of Defence, the Chief Intelligence Directorate, and the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy on the orders of the occupiers.
The activity of strategically significant installations within the military-industrial complex in Ukraine was also of interest to Russia.
