Wole Soyinka has questioned why the federal government is yet to ban the cattle group, Miyetti Allah.

Professor Wole Soyinka, a Nobel laureate, questioned the Federal Government’s handling of the farmer-herder crisis during a pre-recorded Channels Television program.

He questioned why the federal government is yet to ban the cattle group, Miyetti Allah, despite declaring the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist organization.

To understand security challenges, Nigeria, he believes, must always consider the country’s history.

According to him, there have been several reports about the herdsmen causing havoc in some parts of the country, so they ought to be declared a terrorist group the same way as the Indigenous People of Biafra.

He went on to say that his temperament does not accept anyone chasing him out from the earth.

The Federal Government has accused the Indigenous People of Biafra group of being a threat to Nigeria’s sovereignty and causing chaos in the South Eastern part of the country following its agitation for a referendum.
