Tayyip Erdogan Turkish president have accused the West of orchestrating provocation against Russia.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the West on Wednesday of orchestrating “provocations” against Russia, forcing Moscow to suspend energy supplies to Europe.

While attempting to remain impartial in the crisis and supplying Ukraine with weaponry and combat drones, Erdogan has maintained solid working relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During a visit to Belgrade, he told reporters that he understood Putin’s decision to halt natural gas shipments to Germany via the Nord Stream pipeline.

I can state unequivocally that I do not believe the West’s stance no need to name names is acceptable, since it is a strategy built on provocations, Erdogan stated.

As long as you try to conduct such a provocative battle, you will fail to achieve the desired goal.

Erdogan has attempted to leverage his good contacts with both Moscow and Kiev to set up direct meetings in Turkey between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Erdogan is due to meet Putin next week at a regional meeting in Uzbekistan.

During a conference between Putin and Erdogan in Sochi earlier this month, Turkey did not join the Western sanctions system against Russia and instead inked a new economic cooperation pact with Moscow.
